current medical information, exercise guidelines and research available on pregnancy and movement. Appropriate STOTT PILATES® Matwork exercise

adaptations are explored to improve postural issues, relieve stress, strengthen around the joints and keep the body moving. Anatomical and physiological changes, risk factors and movement considerations are also discussed.

Applications of the Five Basic Principles of STOTT PILATES® for pregnancy and exercise adaptations for those in the second trimester are explored utilizing the foam triangle’s increasing height.

developed by the Merrithew team. Using current exercise guidelines provided by the ACOG and bearing in mind common anatomical and physiological changes, appropriate STOTT PILATES® exercise adaptations are explored using the Reformer in innovative and beneficial ways. Workout safety and

effectiveness remain paramount and the client’s risk factors, pre‑pregnancy fitness level, health concerns and fitness goals are be taken in to account

when creating new and ongoing programs.

the Merrithew team, provides trainers with specially designed exercises and modifications using this highly versatile tool. Appropriate STOTT PILATES® exercise adaptations are explored in sitting, standing, side-lying and other beneficial positions. The latest medical information and ACOG guidelines as well as anatomical and physiological changes, risk factors and movement considerations are kept front of mind. Exercise choices are concentrated on second trimester concerns, although considerations for those in first and third trimesters are also addressed.

Appropriate STOTT PILATES® exercise adaptations are explored using the unique features of the Reformer including the height‑adjustable pulleys and completely customizable settings. Trainers easily recognize the benefits of using this highly adaptable unit to keep prenatal workouts fresh and motivating.

After giving birth, many women are looking to regain their pre-pregnancy shape – help your clients get on the right track with Post-Natal Pilates. Modified Matwork exercises are strategically chosen to help focus on reactivating and stabilizing the pelvic floor, transversus abdominis and obliques as well as regaining lumbo-pelvic stability. This gentle but effective workout, incorporates Toning Balls®  to get new moms working out again.
